RL Series now available in 38kV

02/05/2007

The RL-Series range of pole mounted load-break switches / sectionalisers are available in 15, 27 and now 38kV models. The gas insulated switch is designed to meet the growing requirement for a compact, maintenance free switch offering maximum safety and feeder automation.

Electrical characteristics of the 38kV model are:

Maximum line voltage:

38kV

Fault make capacity (RMS/Peak):

16kA/40kA

Continuous load current (RMS):

630A

Mechanical operations:

3000

Impulse withstand:

170kV

The RL-Series can be used as either a locally or remotely controlled manual switch, or as a fully automated sectionaliser. As a sectionaliser, the switch is connected to the standard controller. This means it can automatically isolate downstream faulty sections of a network in conjunction with an upstream recloser.
